Every 10DLC campaign is reviewed before carriers accept its traffic. Most rejections are avoidable — this checklist is what reviewers actually verify, based on the rejection patterns we see.
1. Brand identity
- Legal name matches the IRS/EIN registration exactly (punctuation included). If verification fails, an IRS letter (147C or CP575) resolves it.
- Entity type is accurate (LLC, corporation, non-profit, government, sole proprietor).
- The website is live, secure (https), branded, and shows the business the campaign describes.
- Support contact (email/phone) is consistent across the brand record, the website, and the HELP message. Mismatched contacts are a real rejection contributor.
2. Consent (the #1 rejection area)
- The opt-in described in the campaign must exist on the live site, exactly as described. Reviewers click through and look.
- Checkboxes unchecked by default; consent never required to submit a form or complete a purchase.
- Consent is use-case-specific: transactional and marketing require separate consents.
- The consent disclosure includes: brand name, message types, "Message frequency varies," "Message and data rates may apply," STOP/HELP, and links to the Privacy Policy and Terms.
3. Policies
- Privacy Policy live and stating unconditionally: "Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties." Qualifiers like "without your consent" break this.
- SMS Terms live and covering message types, frequency, rates, STOP/HELP, and a support contact — written for this program, not another channel's boilerplate.
4. Content and attributes must match reality
- Sample messages for every declared message type, each identifying the brand, with opt-out language present.
- Attribute flags are cross-checked against content: links in samples → Embedded Link = Yes; phone numbers in samples or the HELP reply → Embedded Phone = Yes; lending/funding language anywhere → Direct Lending = Yes. Contradictions here are the most common rejection category ("attributes do not match website and/or sample content").
- Message flows (opt-in confirmation, opt-out confirmation, HELP reply) each carry the brand name and required disclosures; the HELP reply names a real email or phone number.
5. Evidence
Attach a screenshot of the opt-in form (checkbox and disclosure visible) to the campaign's multimedia section. Reviewers verify the claimed opt-in against it.
